The UW Law Library is marking National Library Week this year with a milestone: the 20th anniversary of our Faculty READ Poster series.
You’ve likely seen READ posters before—those images of celebrities holding their favorite books, produced by the American Library Association. Our version features UW Law School faculty and staff. Since the first posters debuted in 2006, dozens of faculty and staff have been featured, each holding a book that has sparked their interest or shaped their thinking. The subjects have ranged widely: contract law and Muslim jurisprudence, science fiction and shoes, mathematical proofs and metaphysical motorcycle journeys.
This year, the Legal Analysis, Advocacy, and Writing faculty joined us for a group photo on Bascom Hill. Come see this new poster—and the full collection—on display throughout the Law Library, or browse all 20 years in our digital repository.
The READ posters are just one part of our National Library Week celebrations. The Library also has other activities lined up, including the newest edition of What Our Faculty Are Reading —a libguide featuring book recommendations from UW Law faculty and staff.
Happy National Library Week!
