The Law Center, S.C., is excited and proud to announce that Attorney Kristi Baker has been promoted to Officer and to the Management Team at our firm. Through the years, Kristi has been essential to growing our foster parent and guardianship practice areas and greatly expanding our school law practice area.
Throughout her life, first as a volunteer and foster parent, and then as an attorney, Kristi has advocated for children in challenging circumstances. She takes the hard cases and focuses on providing permanency and support to children. She is a compassionate and loud voice for children in special education and expulsion matters, guardianships, guardian ad litem appointments, foster parent and grandparent rights cases, TPRs and adoptions, voluntary CHIPS matters, and divorce and paternity. She especially enjoys assisting our clients of transgender experience with name changes and gender marker corrections. For this hard work, she has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star several times and earned a position in Dane County’s Guardian Ad Litem Project, which she loves. She also served six years on the Board of the Children and the Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin, including a year as its Chair. She was also made a Provisional Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys in 2024, a highly vetted organization.
